What qualifications will I gain?
The qualifications you will gain will vary from course to course. In our North American courses you will have the chance to gain your CSIA Level 1 & 2. On our european courses you have the chance to gain your BASI 3. As well as your snow sport qualification you will also gain First Aid Certs & receive Avalanche training. Do I need to be an expert skier/snowboarder?
Whilst we don't expect you to be of an Olympic standard, competence on Black runs & the enthusiasm to train in the Bumps, powder & off piste is essential. If you are unsure about the current level of your skiing/boarding don't hesitate to call us. We often arrange to ski with unsure clients at your local Dry slope or Snow dome.
What kit will need?
Perfect Gap recommend that you bring the follwoing equipment:
• Skis - Snowboard
• Boots
• Poles
• Winter Clothing. You will be provided with a uniform on arrival.
How much spending money will I need?
Around £100 a week is the recommended amount. This will cover the days off the chalet staff have and also any excursions during the week & off course Après Ski.
What courses are included?
We include both the CSIA LEVEL 1 & 2 & also the BASI 3. We are the only operator in our field to offer both the CSIA level 1 & 2 in our price.
What will our training cover?
Your training will cover all aspects of skiing. These include all the Ski/Snowboard skills to pass the BASI & CSIA exams. Also your training will cover Off - Piste, Race Training, Freestyle, Powder.
How much training will there actually be?
Our training is Monday - Friday with optional training at weekends. Your days will consist of 5hrs on skis training up on the mountain with some additional evening lectures added on top.
Are the locations lively?
Our locations have been choosen for your enjoyment both on & off the hill. All resorts have a lively Ski resort atmosphere. Not every night is a party night & all resorts have excellent facilites for you to relax & un-wind.
Who will be training us?
Trainers will vary in each resort. All of our coaches hold the ISIA stamp & are highly experienced in training individuals for there snowsports exams. For more information on some of our trainers click onto a our meet the team section of the site.
What age do I have to be?
You have to be 18yrs old to attend one of our courses. Although you can pre-book courses whenever you like. There is also no upper age limit. Perfect Gap is not just a Gap year provider we also cater for those looking for a change of career.
What are your evening meals like?
Our evening meals are excellent! Meals are provided in the your chalet or at restaurants through the village. If you have special dietary needs we can also taylor evening meals for you to enjoy.
